RUSGA Sustainability Fair

Regis University’s student government also known as RUSGA hosted a campus sustainability fair organized a few weeks ago.  Various organizations on campus came together to promote eco-friendly practices and raise awareness about sustainability. Among the featured participants, Harvest Table Culinary Group showcased its commitment to environmental stewardship and innovative sustainability initiatives aimed at creating a greener campus.

Harvest Table highlighted a variety of practices that reflect our dedication to sustainability including composting efforts, the decision not to charge for plant-based milk options at Regi’s Roast, and our commitment to serving certified CoolFoods meals, just to name a few. In a significant move towards reducing plastic waste, Harvest Table also emphasized the use of aluminum containers on campus, encouraging students to make mindful choices that contribute to a healthier planet.

Tips for how students and consumers can adopt more sustainable habits in their daily lives were also showcased. Attendees were encouraged to choose plant-based meals, which not only reduce carbon footprints but also promote better health. Furthermore, Harvest Table invited students to participate in their “Taste Before You Waste” campaign, aimed at minimizing food waste through mindful consumption practices.

The collaboration with student government and other campus organizations underscored the importance of community involvement in sustainability efforts. By engaging students in conversations about environmental responsibility, Harvest Table Culinary Group aims to inspire a culture of sustainability that extends beyond the fair, fostering a greener future for the entire Regis University community.
